Crest of the Wave14 Jun 2022
Listen to our new song “Crest of the Wave” now. Big big love to Zane Lowe for the premiere.
A portion of it existed in 2011, and we had demoed it in Australia and just left it for years. But it was one of those songs which had always been at the back of our minds, like there was some unfinished business there. As we were playing around with it with some of the themes on this record, we cracked it open and really revelled in adding lots of layers to it in the studio. It’s another transportive song. It’s set in St. Lucia, which has always struck me as being very powerful visually, with the mountain plummeting into the sea.
New album Life Is Yours out Friday. Pre-order deluxe signed vinyl here.
"Crest of The Wave"
Ride the waves, dark days
It's Tropic Grey, there's much to say
It's 8 Beaufort, we swim to shore
Then order more, head back to yoursYou show me signs, then pull away
In broken lines, distant days,
Rule the waves, It's you i crave
Summer daze, Hot bonesStuck On St Lucia
I promised i'd meet you
but my words wait on water
so i'll always be there waiting at the crest of the waveAll i need, in ambergris
Come be with me, we'll flee the scene
So roll me up, smoke away
Aftersun, in Tropic Grey,It's green on green, some distant day
Summer line, faraway
Sunset of, calamine
Some broken words, Are you mine?Stuck On St Lucia
I promised i'd meet you
but my words wait on water
so i'll always be there waiting at the crest of the wave
i'll always be there waiting at the crest of the wave
i'll always be there waiting at the crest of the wave
i'll always be there waiting at the crest of the waveStuck On St Lucia
I promised i'd meet you
but my words wait on water
i'll always be there waiting at the crest of the wavei'll be waiting at the crest of the wave,
i'll be waiting0
