new year's resolution: everything written on this site from now on will be written in the first person. first person plural, that is, given that there's more than one of us. no more of this "foals are doing this..." unfortunately we've gotten lazy recently, so the good people who work at our record label and management have been updating these things on our behalf. that's no good, really, is it. so there's our new year's resolution. not that it's a new year or anything.
i'm not sure what the purpose of a blog is if there's nothing to be said. i guess we've felt there's not been that much to say. you put out a new record and i think the idea is that the record does the talking... everything else is just fluff and nonsense.
anyway, expect more fluff and nonsense.
for example: stuff we've done this summer:
got nominated for a mercury music prize, got baited by a lot of journalists into dissing the other artists, didn't (fortunately) diss anyone (partly because there's nothing really to be dissed), and... spent a lot of time saying "well, the xx are going to win anyway, aren't they", while thinking "fair enough", while thinking "the xx probably don't any more press, do they?", all the while (obviously) supping on buck's fizz.
went to australia for a week, played a bunch of shows, barely slept,
er... can't remember much more about that.
my attention span has just collapsed so i'm going to finish this later.
