after three days of sitting around wondering whether the sun is coming up or the sun is going down, we're off again on tour around the uk. my teeth have barely even settled back from their respective edges and already they're chattering up north and back down south again. we've been to all these cities before--hell, we were even born in some of them--but we're not complaining, because some of them are great (i'm looking at you, edinburgh).

for anyone who's coming to see us play, i thought i'd provide a little summary of all the bands who are supporting us. some of them are pretty new, and are friends of ours, and some aren't (yet?), but they're all totally deserving of your love and respect.

gonna do this in two parts because (a) the tour is sort of in two parts and (b) i'm sort of in two parts too.

PET MOON
the new project by andrew mears, who used to sing in foals back before i joined and turned them into the global superstar millionaires that they/we are now (half of that is true--not the $$ half). mentor and tormentor to yannis before he even knew how to grow a beard, and member of oxford's blossoming blessing force. s'gonna be rad. trad mysticism, smooth skin, and beats to make you shit yourself. sounds like r&b if it was made by a white wizard in a shed in oxford. which... it was. superposition is the big hit, rite?

toro y moi
massively chillwave before that best-slash-worst-slash-best of genre names even considered drifted up on the pale white sand beach of meme-city. we've been listening to this on our headphones, in our pyjamas, and on most of oxford's many massively chillwave beaches. definitely music to hit it to to, depending on what exactly you want to hit and what exactly you mean by "hit" per se. slow and heavy and really fucking heavy and sort of like those mornings when you wake up really hungover and everything's fizzing but the sun's shining and there's a half-finished carton of grapefruit juice in the fridge and you think... "vibes".

what i'm sort of saying is, get there early, buy/borrow/steal a delicious way-over-chilled pint of carling, and check this shit out. sort of like people do at music shows i guess.

oh, and we'll be there too. leeds, manchester, edinburgh ... glasgow, birmingham, bristol ... nottingham, southampton, brighton ... norwich, lincoln, london town.

all the big hitters. none of the lil shitters. rock and roll!

xx edwin.
